Mr. Kosoko is a member of the firm’s litigation practice group.  He has over 15 years of experience in all aspects of litigation and investigations. Mr. Kosoko has tried 14 jury trials to verdict. Mr. Kosoko has practiced law at the highest levels in Illinois. His practice is emphasized in the areas of commercial litigation, general tort litigation, municipal liability, civil rights, criminal law including white collar defense, constitutional law, and appellate practice.

Prior to joining Gutnicki, Mr. Kosoko was an assistant appellate defender, assistant state’s attorney, and was also appointed as Special Assistant Corporation Counsel, working as outside counsel for the City of Chicago in the Civil Rights Division. He successfully argued before the Illinois Supreme Court in People v Williams, 235 Ill. 2d 178 (2009).  In that case of first impression, the Court agreed with Mr. Kosoko that federal Copyright Act preempted the Illinois Statute that criminalized the sale of any sound recording without the consent of the owner.  Mr. Kosoko puts this diverse set of experiences to work in service of his current clients.

On a personal note, Ahmed lives in the North Shore with his wife and children.  He enjoys mentoring the youth. He plays golf, chess, and is an enthusiastic fan of the National Football League.
